Obituary for Andrew Paul DeVries

Andrew Paul DeVries, age 44, of Brighton, ON, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022. He was born on January 2nd, 1978, to Andy and Elizabeth DeVries of Brighton, ON.
Andrew graduated from Zion Ministerial Institute (Waverly, NY) and then Loyalist College (Belleville). He was a structural steel draftsman for Associated Drafting Inc., and worked closely with his father for more than 20 years in Brighton, ON, while faithfully serving in various leadership roles in church and parachurch ministry. He also spent time volunteering as a chaplain to the Belleville Bulls with Hockey Ministries International.

On August 6th, 2005, Andrew married Sarah (Wright) and by 2012 they were blessed with four precious daughters. He enjoyed spending time with his girls, playing sports (especially hockey), and was interested in flying. He and Sarah enjoyed travelling and spent lots of time in the Caribbean. Andrew loved God and sought to serve and honour him in many ways. In 2020, Andrew and his family went on a long term missional trip to the Dominican and had the opportunity to minister to many people there before returning to Ontario earlier this year.

He is survived by his parents Andy and Elizabeth, wife Sarah, sisters Rachel, Elaine (Blake), Anita (Dave) and Carolyn, daughters Grace, Faith, Hope (“Joy”) and Patience, as well as many more family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Andrew on Saturday, December 17th, 2022, at 2pm at Evangel Pentecostal Church, 30 Butler Street, Brighton, ON K0K 1H0. There will be a reception following the service.
