Mr. Fuller was for a long time the last surviving member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte to have served with the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment during the Second World War. Mr. Fuller was born in Shannonville in 1921 and enlisted in 1940 before his 19th birthday and eventually was posted to the Hastings Prince Edward Regiment. Fuller landed on Pachino Beach in July 1943 and fought through Sicily, the Italian mainland, and into Holland, finishing his service in that war when the Hasty Ps took the surrender of the German Garrison in Amersfoort, Holland. He took his discharge in September 1945 after having served overseas for five years.

The family’s heartfelt thanks go out to his family doctor Dr. Janice McPhail, and also the doctors and nurses on Quinte 4. Words cannot express our thanks to the Tyendinaga nurses and PSW’s who, with their excellent care and help, our father was able to stay in his own home.

Mr. Fuller is resting at Rushnell Funeral Homes - Belleville Chapel, 80 Highland Ave. Belleville (613-968-5588). Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 27th, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services to be held from His Majesty's Royal Chapel - Christ Church (52 Church Lane South, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory) on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow, All Saints Church Cemetery, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
