Obituary for Brent Neilson Greentree

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brent Neilson Greentree on December 14, 2022
at the age of 65 years.
Brent was born in Oshawa, Ontario on July 7, 1957 to Neilson and Anna-Marie Greentree. He attended
Harmony Road Public School and then Eastdale Collegiate . He then began working for Don’s Wreckers
in Oshawa. At the young age of 16, he started his 43 year career as a Professional Driver.
In December 1978, when Brent was working as a bouncer in the bar at the Holiday Inn, he met his future
wife. They met right before Christmas and tried to find a place for their date but it proved to be a
challenge with the busy holiday season, they would eventually have their date at a piano bar and the
rest would be history. Brent and Linda would later marry on August 20, 1982, they celebrated their 40 th
anniversary this year.
Brent will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors, fishing, story telling, jokes, his amazing
sense of humour and his all embracing bear hugs. He would share his amazing kitchen knowledge and
culinary skills he’d picked up from his mother (Anna-Marie) and would always see to it that no one
would ever go hungry on his watch. He was an absolute wealth of knowledge and loved the chance to
share the things he’d learned with anyone especially his children.
Brent will forever live on in the hearts of his family. He is survived by his wife Linda, his children Brent
(Lisa), Trevor (Shannon) and Jennifer (Brad), his grandchildren Alyssa, Dylan, Avery, Liam, Chase,
Keeganne and Ainslynn, his father Neilson Greentree, his sister Karen (Bob), his brother Darryl (Melissa)
as well as his nieces, his nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law as well as his extended family and all of
his friends.
He was pre-deceased by his grandparents Clarence and Minerva Greentree and his mother Anna-Marie
Greentree.
The Greentree family would like to thank everyone who has reached out with their love and support in
this difficult time.
Arrangements entrusted to JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588). If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. To share memories of Brent and for online condolences, please visit www.rushnellfamilyservices.com
