Obituary for Ernest William Dunkley
Ernest (Ernie) Dunkley, 77, sadly passed away on January 8, 2023, after a lengthy battle with Cancer at his generational family home with his family by his side. Ernie was the son of the late James William Dunkley and the late Dorothy Jean Dunkley (Kemp).
His family will remember him as the Euchre champion. He enjoyed nights at the legion, cottage and jamborees with his long-time friends and family. He will forever be remembered for his infectious personality and loud voice. To his children, he was loving but fair. He instilled bootstrapping, hardworking values upon them, a personality trait that he was commonly known for.
Ernie is a surviving father to his four children, Lisa (David) Rittwage, Christopher (Christina) Dunkley, Tammy (Jim) Bryant and Lyndon Terrill. He was a beloved grandfather to Richard, Ryan, Melissa, Ashley, Amy, Kurt, Lexy, Lily, Luke, and his fur baby Holly. He cherished getting to know his great-grandchildren. Ernie is predeceased by his sisters, Alice and Elise and brother Frank. He will be missed by his partner Diane Rew, her daughters Amanda and Tiffany and the Prisk Family.

Please join us in celebrating his life at the Rushnell Funeral Homes - Brighton, 130 Main Street, Brighton on Saturday January 14, 2023 from 1 to 4 p.m., before he is laid to rest with his predeceased partner, Viva Terrill.
