Obituary for Germaine Catherine Alexander (Vanheddegem)
ALEXANDER, GERMAINE CATHERINE - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of GERMAINE at her home on Saturday, December 24th, 2022, at the age of 87. Loving daughter of the late Francois and Alice Vanheddegem. Beloved wife of 68 years to Thomas Alexander. Dear mother to Lynn Edwards and her husband Robert of Kingston, and Lisa Hagan and her husband Wayne of St. Catharines. Predeceased by her son Tommy Graham, age 3. Cherished Grandmother to Janna (Andrew), Ryan and great-grandmother to Jordyn. GERMAINE was a loving Aunt to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Dolly Horcica and Palmyre Caume.
A celebration of GERMAINE'S life will be held from the Trent Port Marina (15 Creswell Drive, Trenton) on Saturday, May 27th, 2023 from 1:00p.m. - 5:00p.m.
GERMAINE enjoyed volunteering over the years for the hospital auxiliary. She worked tirelessly in the kitchen at King Street United Church preparing dinners and enjoying the camaraderie with the other ladies, as well as at the Salvation Army when the ladies of the church served meals there. She also prepared "meals on wheels" with the church ladies at the Lions Club hall.
GERMAINE was a stay at home Mom who was passionate about cooking and baking for her family. She was a good wife, a good mother and a good woman well loved by her entire family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the TMH Foundation, War Amps or the Care and Share Food Share Bank would be appreciated by the family.
