Obituary for Gertrude (Trudy) Crandell
CRANDELL, Gertrude Frances Emma (nee Wark)– It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gertrude at Crown Ridge Place on 27 February 2023, in her 97th year. Predeceased by her former husband Durland Crandell, brother Richard Wark and by her parents Cecil and Gertrude Wark. Dear mother and mentor to Patrick and Gary Crandell and mother-in law to Joanna Scott. Cherished grandmother to Caroline Jarrett (Oliver) and Catherine Druce (Chris) and great-grandmother to Astrid and Evie Jarrett and Conor and Zoey Druce.
Special thanks to the doctors, physician assistant Ms. M. Leavitt, the Quinte 5 nursing and personal support workers (PSW) at Belleville General Hospital. A heart felt thank you to the admin, life enrichment, support staff, nurses, and PSW's at Crown Ridge for the outstanding care and compassion that they provided to Gertrude over the past 13 years.
In respect to Gertrude’s wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life service from the RUSHNELL FUNERAL HOMES - TRENTON CHAPEL 60 Division St (613-392-2111) on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at 11:00a.m. with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date at Union Cemetery in Oshawa. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the MS Society, Kidney Foundation, or a Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated by the family.
