Obituary for Henry Hakkesteegt

HAKKESTEEGT, HENRY “HENK” – It is with great sadness, that we announce the peaceful passing of Henry at the Trenton Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 16th, 2023 at the age of 93. Son of the late Jan Krijn and Janna Hakkesteegt. Beloved husband and best friend to Rita “Riek” Hakkesteegt. Cherished father to Winnie Visser (Albert), Kirby Hakkesteegt (Arlene). Devoted Opa to Erin (Alex), Joel (Amanda), Brent (Shealyn), Nathan, Kevin (Lisa), Bryce (Dana), Julie (Bryce), Angela (Ryan). Beloved Opie to 18 great-grandchildren, Carter, Travis, Jackson, Kyden, Isla, MacKenzie, Abigail, Alec, Ruby, Mason, Rhys, Charlotte, late Grace, Kiera, Caden, Rowen, Tysen, Asher, Marcus. Pre-deceased by sisters Neeltje Hakkesteegt, and Fie de With (Harm). Henry will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, both in Canada and the Netherlands. The family will receive friends at the Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church, 18 Fourth Ave., Trenton on Monday, March 20th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, March 21st at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Church. Officiated by Pastor Adam Veenstra. Co-officiated by Pastor Case Vink. Spring burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Smithfield (date to be determined).
