Entered into rest at Hastings Manor Long Term Care Facility, Belleville, on Monday, December 12, 2022, Morris Benson of Trenton, formerly of Picton died at the age of 79. He was the son of the late Gladys (Benson) Insley and stepfather Charlie Insley, grandson of the late Herbert and Eva Benson (nee Minaker) and he was the husband of Sharon (nee Sedore). Morris was the father of Sheryl Benson (Kevin Steenburgh) of Thomasburg, step-father of Jamie Frost (Kim Maracle) of Belleville, Tom Frost (Kim), and Susan Williams (Dan) all of Napanee, Julie Struthers of Trenton and Michelle Struthers (Chris Low) of Brighton. He was the grandfather of Justin, Donald, Mariah, Jennifer, Tyler, late Dennis, Codi, Karrie-Lee, Kyle, Katelyn, Matthew, Kay-Shawn and Jacob and great grandchildren. Morris is survived by his siblings Dan Insley (Linda) of Bancroft, Florence Insley (late Richard) of Picton and Linda Mae Mundorff (late Rick) of Belleville and he will be fondly remembered by all his great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Benson is resting at the Rushnell Funeral Home - Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450). Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Gathering will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 1 – 4 p.m. If desired, donations to Resident’s Council at Hastings Manor in Morris’ memory would be appreciated by the family.
