Obituary for William David Evans

EVANS, William "David" – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William "David" Evans on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023, in his 89th year, with his loving family by his side. Dave was the beloved son of the late William and Beryl Evans. Survived by his loving wife Faye Evans, who have been happily married for the past 69 years. Together Dave and Faye shared four beautiful children together; Lee-Ann, Jackie (Derek), Michael (Patricia) and the late Elaine Beach (2009). David was the proud grandfather to five grandchildren; Mark (Emily), Katy (Chris), David, Michelle and Corey (Crystal). He was an equally proud great grandfather to eleven great-grandchildren; Joe, Sophie, Cameron, Jacob, Blayne, Destiny, Devonte, Dasia, Hayleigh, Damien and Brayden. David also leaves behind his only sibling Hazel, as well as his loving nieces; Allison, Gaynor and Chrissy.
David and Faye immigrated from Wales to Canada in 1960 and made a beautiful life for themselves here in Canada. He was known to be quite the family man and accomplished many things in his 89 years on this earth. He served as a proud veteran (compulsory for two years) and was a Peacekeeper in Malaysia for two years as well. David was a proud member of the Belleville Royal Canadian Legion club and was involved in many organizations with them. Dave also served as a Past President of the Belleville Royal Canadian Legion for a total of eight years. He was well known for his passion for the game of darts and ended up being a big part in the Youth Darts organization through the Belleville Royal Canadian Legion, as well as their organized sports committee. With David serving in the Army, it was a no-brainer for him to be part of the Belleville Royal Canadian Legion's Honor Guard and was honored to be part of such an organization. He also served as the sports officer and District Officer. David received a very important award in recognition of his 50 years serving as a volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion. Dave was also proud of the fact that he took a position on the directors board at Elmwood Cemetery. As you can imagine, for many years David did so much for his beloved community Including helping the homeless every chance he got.
It is safe to say that David will be dearly missed by all his friends, family and community and will live on in the hearts of many.
